Michael d’Entremont is an animator that specializes in 2d frame by frame animation. Born In Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. he moved to the United States and to Massachusetts when he was 10 years old. He is Expected to graduate in 2023 with a BFA in Animation from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Ever since a young age, he has been infatuated with animation and the stories they could tell. Michael draws inspiration from a variety of animation including: the beautiful stories told by Hayao Miyazaki, the crude fun internet animations, and the graphic fast paced animation of Genndy Tartakovsky. Michael hopes to be able to work within the animation industry after graduation for a while and then take the experience he’s gained to create his own business and brand.

Artist Statement

An array of different influences go into Michael d’Entremont’s wide array of work, but what will pop out most is the early 2000’s style cartoon animation that he tends to work on. Being exposed to the crazy animation styles of early cartoon network shows and early flash animations has shaped his style of animation and sense of humor. Michael reflects on his influences and how much they’ve influenced his decision to pursue animation professionally. Creating artwork that can inspire the next generation of children to get into animation is a major reason that Michael d’Entremont does what he does. In a world that tends to focus on the bleak and depressing aspects of daily life, Michael wants to create work that can be an escape for children and adults alike.
